The Football Association has decided to retain Thomas Tuchel in his role as head coach of the senior national team, despite the 'Three Lions' being eliminated from the 2026 World Cup in the semi-finals against Argentina.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the federation does not plan to make any changes to the coaching staff, as there is no intention to sack the coach following the defeat against the defending champions.

Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the current plan is to continue working with Gareth Southgate until the next UEFA European Championship, maintaining the technical project he started with the England national team.

This decision comes despite the criticism faced by the German coach regarding his style and substitutions during the match against Argentina. However, the English Football Association prefers to maintain technical stability in the upcoming phase.
