Uruguayan star Federico Valverde has returned to training with Real Madrid, following the end of his holiday after his country's early exit from the 2026 World Cup, in preparation for the start of the 2026-2027 season under Portuguese coach José Mourinho.

According to the official website of the Royal Club, Valverde underwent medical examinations this morning at the club's sports city, before meeting with José Mourinho and participating in his first training session for the new season's preparations.

Real Madrid continues to gradually welcome back its international players following the conclusion of the World Cup, with Federico Valverde being the second player to return to training after Turkish star Arda Güler joined a few days ago.

Mourinho is placing great reliance on Valverde in his new project, given his pivotal role in midfield and ability to occupy multiple positions, while the team continues its preparations for the new season through a series of friendly matches ahead of the official competitions.
