Girondins de Bordeaux is facing one of the most severe crises in its history, as French media reports reveal that the club is close to entering judicial liquidation proceedings, following Sparta Capital's failure to secure the €10 million needed to rescue the club's financial situation.

Reports indicate that club owner Gérard Lopez has declined to take on financial responsibilities, complicating Bordeaux's crisis. This refusal has thrown the future of the club into uncertainty.

Bordeaux officials are expected to appear today, Wednesday, before the French clubs' financial control committee (DNCG) in a hearing regarding the club's case. However, expectations suggest that the decision to exclude them from French national competitions will be confirmed, unless an extraordinary development occurs at the last moment.

If the decision is confirmed, the prestigious club will be on the verge of judicial liquidation, in one of the most challenging moments in Bordeaux's history, which has previously won the French league title six times and has a rich legacy in French football.
