According to "Youm7" newspaper, there are intensive negotiations between Zamalek and Bulgarian coach Ivaylo Petev to take over as the head coach of the White Knights, succeeding Moataz Gamal, with talks having started in recent days.
The newspaper added that the intensification of negotiations with Betif comes despite Zamalek's approach for Moroccan Abdessalam Oudo, who revealed on his social media accounts that he has received an offer from Zamalek and is seriously considering it.
Ivelin Petkov has previously taken charge of several prominent clubs and national teams, most notably Ludogorets in Bulgaria, Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, and Universitatea Craiova in Romania. He also managed the national teams of Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina before his latest stint with Bani Yas in the UAE.
Zamalek fans are anticipating the official announcement of the new head coach in the coming days, as the club's board aims to resolve this matter swiftly to reorganize the team's structure and ensure its technical stability in the upcoming phase.
