Andoni Iraola, Liverpool's head coach, confirmed that his team still needs to sign a new winger during the summer transfer window, but he clarified that the club is not necessarily looking for a player with the same attributes as Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
Iraola stated: "We need a player in this position, but perhaps he has different skills," referring to the goal of finding a player who provides the team with new tactical solutions instead of trying to replicate Salah's style.
The Spanish coach added: "Perhaps he can complete the team in another way, and we are certainly working on that." He confirmed that Liverpool's management continues its efforts in the transfer market to strengthen the squad before the start of the new season.
Iraola stressed during his first press conference with Liverpool that the team needs more signings despite having secured several players this summer, following the departure of key figures and the club's desire to maintain its competitive edge both domestically and in Europe.
