Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport has revealed that Spanish coach Pep Guardiola did not set any financial demands or conditions during negotiations regarding the possibility of taking over as head coach of the Italy national team, contrary to previous reports.
The report clarified that financial considerations are not a priority for Guardiola, as he focuses more on the sporting project and his technical powers, should he decide to take on the role of coaching the Italian national team.
The newspaper added that the Italian Football Federation continues to study the profile of the Spanish coach, considering him one of the leading candidates to take charge of the national team in the upcoming phase, as part of a plan to bring the team back into contention for major tournaments.
Corriere dello Sport has confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing, with no final agreement reached yet. However, Guardiola's lack of financial demands could help facilitate the discussions between the two parties.
