Messi watched the Spanish national team lift the World Cup, in an emotional scene for the veteran star who aimed to lead Argentina to a second global title in his career.
With this defeat, Messi has now experienced his second loss in a World Cup final, having previously fallen to Germany in the 2014 edition. He later fulfilled his historic dream by winning the title in the 2022 World Cup, only to return and settle for second place in the 2026 edition at the age of 39.
