FIFA has announced that El Salvador's Ivan Barton will officiate the upcoming semi-final match between France and Spain, scheduled for Tuesday at the Dallas Stadium in the 2026 World Cup.
Barton will be assisted by El Salvador's David Moran as the first assistant and Nicaragua's Antonio Bopiro as the second assistant, while Sweden's Glenn Nyberg will serve as the fourth official, with his compatriot Mahboud Begi as the reserve assistant referee.
Poland's Tomasz Kwiatkowski will be in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, assisted by the Netherlands' Dennis Higler and Guillermo Pacheco as part of the VAR team.
This match will be Barton's fourth in the 2026 World Cup, having previously officiated the matches between Turkey and Paraguay, as well as Japan and Sweden in the group stage, along with the knockout match between Switzerland and Colombia, before receiving FIFA's trust to manage one of the tournament's most important games.
