Spanish star Rodri has been awarded the Golden Ball for the best player at the 2026 World Cup, after leading his national team to victory over Argentina, securing the title for the second time in its history.

Rodri's award was announced after the final match in which the Spanish national team defeated their Argentine counterparts 1-0 after extra time at the New York/New Jersey stadium.

The midfielder for Spain has showcased extraordinary levels throughout the tournament, particularly in the knockout stages, where he was one of the key players for coach Luis de la Fuente, thanks to his control in midfield, significant role in building attacks, and impactful defensive contributions.

Rodri truly deserves the award after playing a pivotal role in leading "La Roja" to the World Cup title, adding another individual achievement to his remarkable career with both club and the Spanish national team.
