Micky van de Ven is nearing a contract renewal with Tottenham, having changed his stance on his future at the club following the arrival of Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi.

TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham is set to begin official negotiations with the 25-year-old Dutch defender for a new long-term contract, following positive communications with the player's representatives.

Initially, predictions in the transfer market suggested that Tottenham's signing of Jan Paul van Hecke was a precursor to the departure of Mickey van de Ven, as the club prepared to capitalize on his sale.

However, the arrival of De Zerbi has changed Tottenham's management stance, which now prefers to retain the player despite strengthening the center-back position with new signings.

The club is currently focused on finalizing the renewal process first, taking advantage of the positive indicators that have emerged during negotiations with the representatives of the Dutch defender.

Tottenham hopes to replicate what happened with Pedro Porro, who renewed his contract following De Zerbi's arrival, as the club aims to retain its key players in preparation for the new season.
