Sporting Lisbon Joins Race for Bardhi
Rony Bardhi is nearing an exit from Barcelona during the summer transfer window, as he realizes the difficulty of securing playing minutes in the upcoming season following the club's signing of Anthony Gordon and the imminent acquisition of Karim Adeyemi.
According to Spanish newspaper "Sport," Sporting Lisbon has entered the race to sign the player, leveraging their good relationship with Barcelona as they seek to bolster their wing position after the departure of several players.
The source added that Barcelona prefers to sell Bardhi outright while retaining future rights, either by selling a portion of his rights or including a buy-back clause.
The player is also attracting interest from other clubs, with Porto previously inquiring about a loan deal, while Sunderland and Leeds United are monitoring his situation, and Olympique Marseille may also join the competition.
The report indicates that Barcelona is looking to achieve a good financial return from the deal, having signed the player for just three million euros, which would support the club's budget and wage cap.
Bardhi believes that leaving is the best step at this stage of his career, while holding onto the dream of returning to Barcelona in the future if he continues to develop and the club retains the right to re-sign him.
