Brazilian club Corinthians is seeking to re-sign their former player Wesley Gasofa Teixeira, who is currently playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, during the ongoing summer transfer window. CNN Brasil reported that the Brazilian player expressed his desire to return to his former team after communicating with compatriot Fernando Diniz, the head coach of Corinthians. Reports indicate that Diniz welcomed the idea of Wesley's return, believing the player possesses exceptional technical abilities and is familiar with the club's environment, making him a valuable addition to the team. Despite Corinthians' eagerness to finalize the deal, the Brazilian club is facing a challenge due to a ban on registering new players imposed by FIFA. Corinthians is awaiting the settlement of dues owed to Philadelphia Union in order to lift the imposed ban and be able to make signings during the summer transfer window. Wesley has also attracted interest from Brazilian club Cruzeiro, but the player preferred a return to Corinthians, prompting the latter to act in order to reclaim their former winger. Wesley graduated from the Corinthians academy before moving to Al Nassr for €18 million, where he played 21 matches, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The Brazilian player was loaned to Real Sociedad in Spain last January, participating in five matches in La Liga for a total of 91 minutes.
