The Japan Football Federation has officially announced that Hajime Moriyasu will remain at the helm of the national team until the conclusion of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, expressing confidence in the ongoing project he leads with the "Blue Samurai."
The decision to renew Moriyasu's contract comes after the successful years he has led the Japanese national team, overseeing the squad in numerous major tournaments and contributing to maintaining Japan's status among the top Asian teams.
In a long-term strategy, the Japan Football Association revealed that the current Olympic team coach, Go Oiwa, will take over as head coach of the senior national team, succeeding Hajime Moriyasu. This move aims to ensure continuity in the technical project without sudden changes.
Aoyama is set to officially start his duties in March 2027, leading the Japanese national team during the next phase, which will include preparations for upcoming continental and international competitions, notably the qualifiers for the 2030 World Cup.
