For the third consecutive time, Atletico Madrid continues to assert its strong presence on the international stage, becoming the club with the most representation in the 2026 World Cup final, with nine players in the match between Spain and Argentina.


The "Rojiblancos" have four players in the Spain national team: Alex Baena, Alejandro Grimaldo, Marcos Llorente, and Marc Pubill, alongside five players in the Argentina national team: Thiago Almada, Julian Alvarez, Nahuel Molina, Juan Musso, and Giuliano Simeone.


Atletico Madrid also topped the list of clubs with the most representation in the 2022 World Cup final, featuring four players: Antoine Griezmann with France, and Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina, and Ángel Correa with Argentina.


Real Madrid previously achieved the same feat in the 2018 World Cup final, when four players also represented the club: Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, and Thomas Lemar with France, and Šime Vrsaljko with Croatia, confirming its ongoing contribution of stars to the biggest international stages.
