Marc Casado has clarified his future with Barcelona, confirming his wish to continue with the team, despite reports linking him with a departure during the summer transfer window. This comes as the club awaits a decision on the midfielder following Frenkie de Jong's knee injury.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Hans Flick informed Casado at the end of last season that his chances of playing would be limited, which led the player to accept the idea of leaving, whether on loan or through a permanent transfer.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, has already begun exploring options across various leagues, but De Jong's injury could change the dynamics and postpone his departure from the team.
In his statements, Casado reaffirmed his commitment to staying at Barcelona, saying: "I want to stay, and if there is someone who doesn't want me, let them tell me that."
The midfielder stated: "There are still matters that we need to discuss with the coach and the sports management, as well as with my agent."
Casado concluded his statements by affirming his confidence in his ability to continue with the team, saying: "No one can doubt that I want to stay here, and if someone tells me that it’s not possible, we will have to look for the best solution that suits all parties."
