Gerard Martin's level of performance last season has shifted Barcelona's priorities in the transfer market, as coach Hans Flick has been convinced of his potential. The club's focus is now on strengthening the attack rather than signing a new center-back.

Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Barcelona has strengthened its attack by signing English winger Anthony Gordon. The official announcement regarding the signing of German striker Karim Adeyemi is anticipated, following Gerard Martin earning Hansi Flick's trust.

The newspaper added that Martin has successfully adapted to the left center-back position following Inigo Martinez's departure, and has delivered performances that convinced the German coach of his ability to fill this role.

Gerard Martín has played 24 matches as a starter alongside Pau Kobarci in central defense, during which Barcelona achieved 23 victories, keeping a clean sheet in 10 of those matches.

The team also includes Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, and Ronald Araujo, so Barcelona sees no need to sign a new defender unless one of these players departs.

The report indicated that Barcelona's interest in Alessandro Bastoni has diminished, and that Tottenham's Mickey van de Ven does not technically match the specifications the club is looking for in that position.
